Whorled tickseed (Coreopsis verticillata) is a fast growing native perennial that grows 2-3 feet tall in dense bushy clumps with stems and flowers of varying heights. Its 1-2 inch yellow daisy-like flowers bloom from late May to early August and beyond. It flourishes in full sun and partial shade, requires little water, and is drought-tolerant. Butterflies and other pollinators are attracted to the flowers and birds will eat the seeds. The clumps will spread by rhizomes and can be divided every 2-3 years. It will also self-seed. Lanceleafed tickseed is deer resistant.
