Early goldenrod (Solidago juncea) is a herbaceous perennial wildflower that is easy to grow and low maintenance. It is one of the earliest blooming goldenrods, beginning to bloom in July and continuing through August. It is an attractive, slender plant with a delicate appearance. Its stiff 2 to 4 foot stems feature bright yellow flowers. The plant should be divided every few years to contain its growth and promote flowering.

Early goldenrod is a host for wavy-lined emerald moth (Synchlora aerata) larvae. Early goldenrod flowers attract butterflies, many specialized bees, and other pollinators. Songbirds eat the seeds.
