Hammonasset Beach State Park is located on the Long Island shore in Madison, Connecticut. Migrating shorebirds, waders, seabirds, and wintering waterfowl and owls are regularly seen at Hammonasset. Ospreys nest in the park. The east end of the park has views of the Sound as well as Clinton Harbor. Salt marshes abound with waders. Menunkatuck Audubon maintains a birders log at the Meigs Point Nature Center.

Hammonasset State Park is located at exit 62 off I-95.

The Friends of Hammonasset is an organization dedicated to provide environmental education , preserve the integrity of the park's natural resources, raise public awareness, and serve as an advocate for the park.
